PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State University women's basketball team put together a great run at last week's Pacific Life Pac-12 Tournament in Los Angeles. The No. 11 seed Cougars posted upsets over No. 6 Oregon State and No. 3 USC, becoming the lowest seeded team ever to reach the semifinals of the Pac-12 Conference tournament.

WSU picked up its first conference tournament victory in program history with a 65-56 victory over Oregon State in the opening round after dropping the 10 previous tournament contests. The following night at the Galen Center, the Cougars upset the Trojans 69-55 in the quarterfinal round held to advance to the semifinals held at the Staples Center. Washington State saw its run come to an end with a 64-49 defeat to No. 2 seed California in the semifinal but the Cougars had already made their mark on the conference and capped their season with a couple big victories.

The Cougars placed a player on the all-tournament team for the first time in program history as senior guard Jazmine Perkins received the honor after averaging 8.7 ppg and 6.7 rpg in the three games. A couple other Cougs also produced in the tournament as senior guard and southern California native April Cook led the Cougs with 11.3 ppg while sophomore guard Brandi Thomas added 10.7 ppg.
