WSU Falls to Gonzaga 77-57

SPOKANE, Wash. - Washington State's Bianca McCall scored 15 points and Kim Dugan added a career-high 12 in the Cougars' 77-57 loss to the Gonzaga Bulldogs Wednesday night at the Kennel.

Gonzaga was led by Raeanna Jewell, who scored a career-high 21 points. Ashley Burke (16 points) and Shannon Mathews (11 points) also scored in double-digits for Gonzaga.

The first eight minutes was a back and forth affair, featuring three ties and four lead changes. Gonzaga began to assert itself when, down 14-12, it scored six consecutive points to take an 18-14 advantage at the 10:48 mark.

After three consecutive points by Dugan brought WSU to within one at 18-17 with 10:02 remaining, Gonzaga outscored WSU 25-10 to build a 43-27 lead at the end of the first half.

WSU returns to action at Montana, Saturday, Dec. 14 at 6:35 p.m.
