LINCOLN, Neb. - The Washington State women's basketball team dropped to 1-2 on the season after a 107-54 loss to Nebraska Sunday at Devaney Center. The Huskers remained perfect on the season, improving to 4-0.

"I think it was really good for our team to see a squad like this," WSU Head Coach June Daugherty said. "Nebraska has a lot of upperclassmen, and eventually we want to be playing at that level. We have a lot of young talent on this Cougar team, but we are going to have to put more work in to get there. The great thing about our team is that they see that. They wanted to practice immediately after the game."

Three Cougars scored in double figures including freshman guard KiKi Moore, who posted a team-high 13 points. Moore had led WSU in scoring in each of her first three games as a Cougar. Also scoring in double figures were redshirt freshman guard Katie Grad, who added a career-high 12 points, and sophomore guard April Cook, whose 10 points mark the 13th consecutive game with 10-plus.

The Huskers opened the game hitting each of their first four 3-point field goal attempts, jumping out to a 12-4 lead. Although Nebraska went just 1-of-7 from beyond the arc for the remainder of the half, the team was able to score 24 points in the paint en route to a 59-20 first-half lead.

The Cougars were able to keep the second half closer than the opening stanza, but they couldn't cut into Nebraska's lead. For the game the Huskers shot 39-of-74 (52.7 percent) from the floor, including 11-of-23 from the 3-point line (47.8 percent). Conversely, WSU shot just 20-of-78 (25.6 percent) on the day.

Sophomore guard Danielle LeNoir recorded a team-high three assists, and sophomore guard Jazmine Perkins pulled down a team-high six rebounds and registered a team-high two steals.

WSU recorded a season-high five blocks, including two from freshman center Carly Noyes, the first multiple-block game of her career. Noyes has at least one block in each of her first three games with WSU. Cook, who had only one block in all of her debut season, also has a block in each of the first three games of the 2009-10 season.

The Cougars continue their four-game road trip next week in Las Vegas, Nev., facing Bradley in the first round of the Lady Rebel Round-up. Should they advance, the Cougars will face either tournament-host UNLV or Boise State in the championship game.
