TUCSON, Ariz. - Washington State University dropped a 90-51 Pac-12 Conference decision to University of Arizona Thursday evening.

The Cougars dropped to 10-16 overall and 4-10 in conference play while Arizona improved to 14-12 overall and 3-11 in the Pac-12. Sophomore forward Brandi Thomas led WSU with 14 points and senior guard Rosetta Adzasu added 10 points and five steals. The Wildcats shot 54.4 percent from the field including 11 from behind the arc.

Both teams opened the game on fire, each hitting a pair of three's with Adzasu and sophomore guard Sage Romberg connecting for the Cougars. Adzasu later added a nice drive and scoop layup and Thomas hit a turnaround jumper for the Cougs.

Arizona then caught fire, connecting on four straight three-point attempts and using a 14-5 run to build a double-digit lead.

Tarnowski and fellow senior Jazmine Perkins each added layups before a baseline jumper from junior forward Carly Noyes cut the Arizona lead to seven at the 10:08 mark.

The hot shooting by the Wildcats would continue as they answered the Cougs spurt with a 12-1 run to build a 40-22 advantage.

Arizona would add another bucket in the final seconds of the half to take a 46-31 lead into the break. The Wildcats finished the half with eight three's and shooting 53 percent from the floor.

Washington State opened the half with four straight points from Thomas but Arizona countered with five straight points to keep its lead in double-digits. The Wildcats went on to keep its double-digit lead the rest of the way.

The Cougars wrap up their road trip against Arizona State, 1 p.m. Saturday in Tempe, Ariz.
