LOS ANGELES - Shalada Allen led a contingent of three UCLA players who scored in double-digits with 14 points in the Bruins' 79-55 win over the Washington State Cougars in Pacific-10 Conference women's basketball action Friday night at Pauley Pavilion.

The loss dropped the Cougars to 2-19 overall and 0-11 in the Pac-10. UCLA improved to 6-14 overall and 3-9 in the conference.

Sissy Pickett and Brianna Winn each scored 13 points to complete the Bruin double-digit trio. Francine McCurtain led WSU with 14 points, her 12th game scoring in double figures this season.

UCLA shot out of the gates scoring the game's first 15 points in the opening 7:12 of the contest.

The Bruins continued their hot play throughout the first half, taking as large as a 26-point advantage at 40-14 with 2:45 remaining. However, WSU would end the half on a 6-2 run to slice UCLA's lead to 42-20 at halftime.

In the first half, UCLA shot 15-of-29 (51.7 percent) from the field while WSU was 5-of-25 (20 percent) from the floor.

The Cougars continued to erase UCLA's advantage in the opening stages of the second half. WSU began the second half with a 13-0 run to pull within 42-33 at the 15:27 mark. During the stretch the Bruins shot 0-of-8 from the floor while WSU was 6-of-9 from the field.

After an exchange of baskets, the Bruins retook control of the game with an 11-0 run to once again establish a 20-point advantage at 55-35 with 12:42 remaining.

For the game UCLA shot 28-of-63 (44.4 percent) from the floor while WSU was 20-of-59 (33.9 percent) from the field.
