Men's Golf Travels to Oregon for Pac-12 Preview

THIS WEEK After a week off from competition, the Washington State men's golf team will size itself up against all 11 of its Pac-12 Conference opponents at the Pac-12 Preview in North Plains, Ore., October 8-9...teams will play 36 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday...foursomes will tee off of the first, ninth, and 13th holes with competition beginning at 8:21 a.m. each day. THE COURSE The competition will be held at the Witch Hollow course at the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains...the private course, which was named the "#2 Best New Private Course in the U.S." in its inaugural year in 1992, will play at par 72 and 7,017 yards...Witch Hollow played host to the United States Golf Association's (USGA) 1996 U.S. Amateur Championship, which Tiger Woods won...number of other amateur and professional events have been held at the two courses at Pumpkin Ridge, including the 1997 U.S. Women's Open Championship, 2003 U.S. Women's Open Championship; 2006 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship; and the LPGA's 2009, 2010 and 2011 Safeway Classic. THE FIELD Joining host school Oregon State in the Pac-12 Preview will be Arizona, Arizona State, California, UCLA Colorado, Oregon, USC, Stanford, Utah, Washington, and Washington State. Competing for the Cougar men will be sophomore Michael Anderson, junior Jarrett Foote, senior Hank Frame, redshirt sophomore Sang Lee and junior Blake Snyder.
HEAD COACH CLEGG SAYS "We've won two of our first three events, which is great. This event is by far our toughest of the fall. Our guys are carrying themselves with a little more confidence."
