Men's Golf Takes on Tough Field at Thunderbird Invitational

What's Happening This Week: The Washington State University men's golf team will travel to Tempe, Ariz., to compete in the ASU Thunderbird Invitational...the two-day tournament will be held April 2-3 at the par-71, 7,057-yard Karsten Golf Course.

The Field: Nine of the 15 teams competing in the tournament are ranked in Golfweek's top 25, including No. 2 Stanford, No. 6 Washington, No. 7 UCLA, No. 9 UNLV, No. 11 Arizona State, No. 12 USC, No. 15 Oregon, No. 24 California, No. 25 Oregon State, along with Arizona, BYU, Colorado State, San Diego State, UC Irvine and Washington State.

Traveling For The Cougars: The Cougar contingent will consist of seniors Austin Hurt, Nick Grigsby and Kevin Tucker, junior Nick Ellis and freshman Hank Frame.

Last Time Out: The Cougars are coming off a fifth-place finish at the Duck Invitational in Eugene, Ore., March 22-23...Tucker and Ellis led the team, both finishing in a tie for 10th at even-par 216...Frame carded a 222 (+6) to finish in a tie for 31st.
