Men's Golf In Third at Snowman Getaway

First Round Results Get Acrobat Reader

CHANDLER, Ariz. - The Washington State University men's golf team is in third after the first 18 holes of the WSU Snowman Getaway. The Cougars posted a 286 (-2) during the morning round at the par-72, 7,334-yard Cattail Course of the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz.

Junior Nick Ellis and sophomore Paul Mitzel are leading the way for the WSU squad. Ellis is in a tie for third place, two strokes out of the lead after posting a 3-under par 69. Mitzel carded a 70 (-2) and will tee off in a tie for sixth this afternoon.

The team will also use the scores of Trent Sanders and Kevin Tucker who both finished their first round in the top 25. Sanders finished at one-over (73) and is tied for 17th while Tucker will look to improve on his opening round of 74.
