Lakeside, Calif. - Washington State men's golf is in ninth place out of 18 teams at the Barona Collegiate Cup through two rounds. The Cougars had a strong first round with a score of 283 and a second round score of 294 to finish with 577.

Wichita State (555) is currently the leader with UAB (561) in second. University of San Diego (563) is in third while Colorado State and the host team San Diego State is tied for fourth with a score of 565. WSU is within five strokes of the St. Mary's who occupies eighth place.

Senior Chris Collins had a solid first round with a 67 that put him in fourth place after one round. The second round wasn't as productive for Collins as he carded a 73 in his second round and currently sits in a tie for 11th place. Collins has the best score of any Cougar after two rounds.

The Barona Collegiate Cup concludes on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. Pacific Time. The tournament concludes the fall season for the Cougars.
