Madison Records Fourth Top 25 Finish Of The Year In Barona Cup

LAKESIDE, Calif. - Redshirt freshman Jordan Madison again showed why he is an up and coming star for the Washington State men's golf team by posting his fourth Top 25 finish in five tournaments in the Barona Collegiate Cup, at the par 72, 7,088 yard Barona Creek Golf Course Tuesday.

After opening with a team low 70 (-2) in the first round, Madison followed with a 1-under 71 in the second and an even par 72 in the final 18 holes. With a total of 213 (-3), Madison finished tied for 25th place. Madison just missed his fourth Top 10 finish by four strokes.

Senior Ryan Camp improved his score every round and finished at 2-over and tied for 43rd by firing a 71 (-1) in the final round. Freshman Kevin Chen was just one shot behind Camp and carded a 219 (+3) for the tournament. Chen finished in 47th place.

Senior Isaac Woods and redshirt sophomore Paul Knue both finished with a 221 (+5) and tied for 52nd place. Both Knue and Woods played their best rounds in the first and third with Knue scorching a 1-under 71 in both and Woods shooting an even par in the two.

The Cougars finished out the tournament by shooting a 286 in the final round and placed 12th. The four scoring players in both the first and last rounds fired an even par or better for the Cougars.

The Cougars will have two weeks to prepare for their final fall tournament when they travel to Hawaii Nov. 3 for the UH/ Turtle Bay Intercollegiate.
