Third Round Of Wolf Pack Classic Washed Out Due To Weather

RENO, Nev. - The third and final round of the 28th Annual Wolf Pack Classic was cancelled Tuesday (Oct. 19) morning due to windy and rainy conditions at Wolf Run Golf Club (par 72 - 7,100 yards).

Led by top 10 efforts from Jordan Madison and David Fern, the Washington State men's golf team finished the 36-hole event in fourth place.

Madison led the Cougars with a 4-under 140 total, tying the redshirt-sophomore for fourth place. Madison, who finished just one stroke back of the leaders, followed up a 3-under 69 with a 1-under 71 during Monday's play.

Redshirt-junior Fern tied for 10th place with a 2-under 142 total. Fern posted rounds of 72 and 70 in the first and second rounds, respectively.

As a team, the Cougars posted an even-par score of 576. WSU was two strokes behind third place and host team Nevada, and three strokes ahead of fifth place Fresno State. Lamar University earned the team title with a 12-under total of 574.

Jordan Mason and Chris Collins each shot 147 (+3), and Fred Schlect shot 164 (+20), to round out the scoring for the Cougars.

WSU returns to action at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, Calif, Oct. 25 & 26.
