Cougars Sit in Tenth Place After First Round of Pac-10 Championships

TUCSON, Ariz. - Battling a slow pace of play, the Cougars sit in tenth place after the first round of the Pacific-10 Championships at The Gallery at Dove Mountain, a par 72, 7,412 yard course Monday.

Making his first appearance in the Pac-10s, redshirt freshman Jordan Madison sits tied for 20th after shooting a 2-over 74 through the first 18 holes, a round that included a stretch of three straight birdies on holes 4-6.

Senior Ryan Camp and freshman Kevin Chen are knotted at 31st with a first round score of 76 (+4).

The Cougars shot a 389 (+29) for the day and trail Oregon State by just two strokes.

Two rounds were originally scheduled to be played Monday, but due to darkness, only one was able to be completed. Teams are scheduled to tee off at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday to complete round two. Round three will pick up directly afterwards.
