Freshman, Hurt, Finishes in Top-25 at Pac-10 Tournament

EUGENE, Ore. -At the completion of the Pacific-10 Championships, played on the par-72, 7,033 yard Eugene Country Club golf course, the Cougar men finished up with a fourth round score of 385, and a total team score of 1484.

Garnering the highest finish for the Cougars was freshman Austin Hurt, who shot a fourth round score of 70 to give him a three day total score of 288 (E). Hurt finished in a tie for 18th, giving himself another top-25 finish for the season.

"A finish in the top-20 as a freshman is excellent," said Head Golf Coach Walt Williams.

Senior Chris Collins finished the competition in a tie for 36th after shooting a 77 in the fourth round. Collins ended with a final score of 295 (+7). Finishing one stroke behind Collins was redshirt senior Jordan Madison, who had a total score of 296 (+8) at the end of the tournament.

Senior Jordan Mason ended with a 305 (+17) score, while freshman Kevin Tucker finished one stroke behind with a 306 (+18). Freshman Nick Grigsby rounded out the lineup with a score of 307 (+19).

"This was a tough finish for us," Williams said. "We're going to miss Collins and Madison next year, but I am excited for the future of this program and look forward to having some of our talented freshman return."
