WSU Men Hanging Tough At Border Olympics

April 4, 2003

LAREDO, Texas - The Washington State men's golf team used an exceptional second round score of 286 for 16th after two rounds at the Border Olympics at the Par 72, 7,125 yard Laredo Country Club at Laredo, Texas.

The Cougars blistered the course in round two, scoring the second lowest total for any team, and moved up four spots into 16th place heading into the final round.

Dustin White and Isaac Woods lead the Cougars with a share for 36th, followed by Ryan Camp at 54th, Chad Carlson at 73rd, and Ryan Ressa at 88th.

Head Coach Walt Williams expected the field to be very competitive, and it has proved to be so, as just ten team strokes separates tenth place from second.

The Cougars will take on the final round at the Border Olympics at Laredo, Texas Saturday at 8 a.m.
