Nine Cougars Receive Pac-12 All-Academic Recognition

2012 Pac-12 All-Academic Team Get Acrobat Reader

PULLMAN, Wash. - Nine Washington State University football student-athletes received Pac-12 Conference All-Academic recognition, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Redshirt-senior Andrei Lintz was a first team selection after owning a 3.72 GPA while majoring in sport management. It is the third career academic accolade for the wide receiver who earned all-academic second team honors the past two seasons.

Redshirt-junior Zach Brevick and senior linebacker Travis Long each received second team honors. Brevick, an offensive lineman from Snoqualmie, Wash., owns a 3.23 GPA while majoring in entrepreneurship. Long picks up his first career academic accolade after producing a 3.02 GPA while majoring in management and business. The Spokane, Wash. native has started all 47 games during his career and is the Pac-12's active leader in career sacks with 20.5. He is set to graduate in December.

Sophomore long snapper Alex Den Bleyker (3.01, Undeclared), junior offensive lineman John Fullington (3.11, Movement Studies), junior kicker Andrew Furney (3.17, Marketing), redshirt-junior quarterback David Gilbertson (3.03, Communication), sophomore linebacker Logan Mayes (3.15, Undeclared), and redshirt-sophomore wide receiver Kristoff Williams (3.44, Undeclared) were all named honorable mention. It is the second career academic accolade for Fullington, Furney and Williams while Den Bleyker, Gilbertson and Mayes each receive their first career academic recognition.
