Furney Named To Phil Steele's Midseason All-America First Team

PULLMAN, Wash. - Junior kicker Andrew Furney was named to Phil Steele's Midseason All-America first team, the magazine announced recently. Furney has connected on nine-of-11 attempts this season and is five-of-seven from 40-plus yards. The Burlington, Wash. native enters the week leading the Pac-12 Conference in field goal percentage at .818 and is tied for the lead with nine made field goals. Earlier this year against Eastern Washington, Furney closed the first half with a career-long 60-yarder, the second longest in the country this season, second longest in WSU and Pac-12 Conference history and longest in Martin Stadium history. Furney has continued to climb up the Cougars top-10 for career made field goals, entering the week tied for eighth with Loren Langley at 26.
