Alfred Garners More Preseason Recognition

June 11, 2009

PULLMAN - Washington State center Kenny Alfred continues to garner preseason recognition, this time from Lindy's, the magazine announced recently.

Alfred, a rising redshirt senior from Gig Harbor, Wash., was named Lindy's second-team Preseason All-Pacific-10 Conference. Earlier this offseason Alfred was named second-team Preseason All-Pac-10 by Phil Steele, in addition to being named to the Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List.

Of the centers earning All-Pac-10 recognition in 2008, Alfred is one of only three returning in 2009. Alfred enters 2009 entrenched as the team's starter, having started 32 of WSU's last 33 games at the position dating back to his freshman season, when he was named Freshman All-America Second Team by Scout.com.

The leader of the Cougars' offensive line, Alfred was named WSU's Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2008. He has also garnered recognition on the Pac-10 All-Academic Team.
