Coach Wulff Helps Ring in Salmon Season

May 21, 2010

SEATTLE - Alaska Air Cargo recently rang in the beginning of the summer salmon season by delivering the first shipment of Copper River salmon to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and WSU Football Head Coach Paul Wulff was on hand to help celebrate.

Once the first salmon had been delivered, top Seattle chefs competed for the best salmon recipe in Alaska Air Cargo's inaugural "Copper Chef Cook-off." Coach Wulff, Seattle Mariner Hall of Famer Jay Buhner, Mike Fourtner, deckhand on the F/V Time Bandit, as featured on Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch," and Alaska Airlines President Brad Tilden served as judges for the competition.

"I had an absolute blast," Wulff said. "I am pretty sure we were only supposed to be sampling each dish, but the food was so good I could have eaten the entire plate every time. I would do this again in a heartbeat."
