Attended Berkeley High, where he was coached by Mike Tuiasosopo...earned one varsity letter in football, two in basketball and one in track (sprints, hurdles, long jump)...as a JUNIOR named basketball team's MVP winner and served as team captain...won NorCal 100m high hurdle title...SENIOR year received all-league honorable mention as a tight end...also a "cream of the crop" pick in football...named to Super Prep Magazine's Far West team (#18)...Blue Chip Magazine named him to their Western Regional team (#6 receiver)...basketball captain.

WILLIAMS' LANEY COLLEGE CAREER

  • Freshman (1997-98): Coached by Stan Peters...season caught seven passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Sophomore (1998-99): Caught 31 passes in seven games for 767 yards and eight touchdowns...averaged 109.6 receiving yards per game...selected by Super Prep Magazine one of the Top 100 All-American's in the nation.

  • Junior (1999-00): V-letter...played in all 12 games and had four consecutive mid-season starts...caught at least one pass in each of WSU's first seven games...only games blanked were against Oregon State and Hawai'i...best game seven catches for 121 yards against USC, including one touchdown, a 24-yard toss from receiver Collin Henderson...five receptions for 64 yards in win over California, and four at Oregon for 71 yards...TD receptions against Idaho, Cal, Louisiana and USC...earned the following team award: USC/Pacific-10 Offense.
