Cougar Defense Shines in Spring Scrimmage

The Cougars defense forced four turnovers, blocked a field goal and had three sacks Saturday

KNIGHT'S WSU CAREER
RS-JUNIOR (2011): Redshirt season...earned WSU Scout Team Defensive Player of the Week honors against San Diego State.
JUNIOR (2010): Enrolled in January, 2011 and participated in spring drills.

KNIGHT'S BUTLER COUNTY COLLEGE CAREER
SOPHOMORE (2010): Played under head coach Troy Morrel... earned 2010 All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference honorable mention honors at defensive end...recorded 56 tackles, including 14.5 for loss along with 5.5 sacks, on the season...had seven tackles, three TFLs and two sacks in a 38-26 win at No. 3 Coffeyville and had a season-high eight tackles twice...Butler posted 11-1 record on the season, its only loss coming in the championship game against Navarro College.
FRESHMAN (2009): Played at Hutchinson Community College.

KNIGHT'S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
Played defensive end and defensive tackle for three years under head coach Rick Wheeler...varsity athlete in basketball and track...SOPHOMORE year lettered in football and track and received honorable mention all-city in football...JUNIOR year lettered in football, basketball, and track...named to first-team all-city and first team All-State...SENIOR year renamed to first-team all-city and to first-team All-State as team posted a 9-2 record, 6-1 in league play.
