HOLMES' HIGH SCHOOL CAREER

Attended St. John Bosco High, graduating in June 2000...coached in football by Kiki Mendoza...captain of team senior year...also played basketball as a freshman...as a SOPHOMORE was team's defensive rookie of the year...named to the All-Del Rey League second team...during JUNIOR year was a first team all-Del Rey League pick on defense and won the team's award as the Iron Man (2-way player)...also won the team's strength award...SENIOR year had 47 tackles in 10 games, made two sacks, picked off one pass and recovered two fumbles...named to the All-Serra League first team...the Braves' co-MVP winner...picked to the All-Far West teams by Prep Star Magazine and Super Prep Magazine.

HOLMES' WSU CAREER

FRESHMAN (2001-02): Enrolled at WSU in January, 2001 and participated in spring drills...redshirt season.

RS-FRESHMAN (2002-03): V-Letter...Games - 11...Starts - 1...pressed into starting duty at Montana State...backup action in the other eight games...did not see action against Arizona or Washington...also sees action on PAT and field goal units.

RS-SOPHOMORE (2003-04): Injury related redshirt season...back injury.

RS-JUNIOR (2004-05): V-letter...Games - 11...Starts - 7...starting right guard in the first two games of the season...came off the bench in the next four games while slowed by a sore back...returned to the starting line-up at Oregon State...earned the following weekly team awards: Cougar Claw Offense - UCLA. Special Teams: FG/PAT Kicks.

PERSONAL: Norvell Holmes...born December 18, 1981...mother Claudia Holmes...father deceased...one brother Kenny...looking at a business management or computer technology major at WSU...first signed with WSU in February 2000, did not enroll in August, as originally planned.
