BYERS' WSU CAREER
RS-JUNIOR (2011): Earned a varsity letter after appearing in all 12 games, making two starts...recorded two catches for 11 yards...first catch of the season was an 11-yard touchdown at Colorado...also earned WSU's Big Hit Award at Colorado...picked up Cougar Special Teams Player of the Week accolades at California...named WSU's Tim Petek Award for strength. RS-SOPHOMORE (2010): Started first game of season at Oklahoma State...assisted on one tackle before suffering a season-ending knee injury at Oklahoma State. FRESHMAN (2009): Earned a varsity letter after appearing in eight games, including two starts (Arizona and Oregon State)...one of six true freshmen to appear in a game, and one of five to start...switched from linebacker to fullback in the week of practice leading up to the Oregon game and played that week against the Ducks...caught five passes for 47 yards on the season...also recorded three tackles on special teams (two solo).
BYERS' HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
Earned three varsity letters for head coach Craig McCormick...was team captain as a senior...SOPHOMORE year earned honorable mention all-league on defense...JUNIOR year named all-league on both offense and defense, and was also named Great Northern League's Most Valuable Defensive Player...SENIOR year named all-league on both offense and defense and garnered a second-straight league defensive MVP honor...also lettered twice in track and field and once in basketball.
