Dominic Ballard Added to Cougar Basketball Roster
Aug. 19, 2011
PULLMAN, Wash. - Dominic Ballard will attend Washington State University and join the men's basketball team for the 2011-12 season as a non-scholarship student-athlete, WSU Head Coach Ken Bone announced Friday. "We're excited to have Dominic join our team as a walk-on," Bone said. "We've had great contributions from many of our walk-ons in recent years and expect the same from Dominic." A native of Seattle, Ballard (6-foot-4, 195 guard) earned three letters in basketball at O'Dea High School before finishing his high school career at Bothell High School where he graduated in 2010. As a freshman at O'Dea, the Fighting Irish won the 3A State Championship. In his senior season at Bothell, Ballard served as team captain and was the league's second-leading scorer with 21.6 points, 7.1 assists and 10.5 rebounds per game. He was first team all-KingCo Conference and named the Cougars' MVP. Ballard joins two other walk-ons for the 2011-12 season, returning sophomore Will DiIorio and incoming freshman Chuks Iroegbu.
