PULLMAN, Wash. - Rising-junior Patrick Simon has been granted his release from Washington State University men's basketball team and will transfer, head coach Ken Bone announced Wednesday.

"Patrick is an exceptional young man and we appreciate the contributions he's made to our program over the last two years," Bone said. "We wish him the best and a successful career wherever he transfers to. We will help Patrick in any way we can."

Simon appeared in 52 games during his two seasons with the Cougars, including 23 this season. A native of Ephrata, Wash., he averaged 2.9 points and 1.3 rebounds per game, while 34 of his 55 field goals came from beyond the 3-point arc. This past season Simon was named to the Pac-12 Men's Basketball All-Academic Second Team.
