PULLMAN, Wash. -- Junior Jerry McNair poured in a game-high 22 points to lead five players in double figure scoring as Washington State routed Prairie View A&M 103-55 at Friel Court, Saturday.

The 48-point margin of victory is the largest for WSU since the Cougars (1-1) defeated Oral Roberts, Dec. 10, 1993 at the Indiana Classic in Bloomington, Ind. It also tied the second largest victory since 1945.

The 103 points are the most by WSU since a 114-68 win over Grambling State in the Sun Bowl Classic at El Paso, Texas, Dec. 29, 1999. It was the Cougars highest output in Pullman since March 2, 1996 when WSU beat Arizona State 103-78.

Sophomore Marcus Moore recorded seven steals, one short of the WSU record, as the Cougars tied a school single game record with 17 steals as a team.

Moore added 16 points and game highs with seven assists and five rebounds.

Also in double figure scoring for the Cougars were junior Justin Lyman with 13 points and seniors J Locklier and Mike Bush with 10 points each.

Washington State shot 54 percent from the field and forced 32 turnovers by Prairie View A&M (1-4).

The Cougars bench scored 40 points, led by Bush and eight points each from freshmen Thomas Kelati and Shami Gill.

WSU travels to Missoula, Mont., next Wednesday for its first road contest of the season. Tip off against Montana is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., MST.
