Cougars Rout Australia Institute of Sport In Exhibition

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Seven Cougars scored in double figures including double doubles by Marcus Moore and Shami Gill to lead Washington State 109-89 over Australia Institute of Sport in exhibition basketball Thursday night.

Junior guard Marcus Moore (Inglewood, Calif.), an All-America candidate, led the offensive attack with a game-high 28 points and added 10 assists. Sophomore Shami Gill (Mission, British Columbia) contributed 11 points and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.

The Cougars outrebounded Australia 57-38, including 29 offensive boards. Senior Milton Riley (Gardena, Calif.) recorded eight rebounds and 17 points while sophomore Chris Schlatter (Lafayette, Calif.) grabbed seven rebounds to go along with 10 points.

Other Cougars in double-figure scoring included senior Justin Lyman (Missouri City, Texas) and junior Ezenwa Ukeagu (Coral Springs, Fla.) with 12 each and sophomore Thomas Kelati (Walla Walla) with 10.

WSU jumped out to a 41-21 lead in the first half and held a 56-43 advantage at the half.

Five players scored in double figures for Australia, led by Andrew Bogut's 14.
