PULLMAN, Wash. - Kab Kazadi hit a 3-point basket with three seconds left, but Washington State fell short to visiting Oregon 64-63 in front of 2,731 at Friel Court Thursday night.

The Cougars (8-14 overall, 1-10 Pacific-10) dropped their eighth straight Pac-10 game and lost Carlos Daniel at the 10:42 mark of the second half with a severe left ankle sprain.

Terik Brown hit a pair of big 3-point baskets for the Ducks, including his long shot with 59 seconds to go which gave Oregon the lead for good. Henry Madden led the Ducks with 15 points while reserves A.D. Smith and Jonathon Nelson added 12 points each. Brown finished with nine.

Steve Slotemaker matched his career scoring best with a game-high 15 points with a pair of 3-point baskets. Blake Pengelly and Carlos Daniel each scored 10 points.

The Cougars held a 50-47 lead at 10:54 when they lost Carlos Daniel with a left ankle sprain. Daniel was carried from the court and did not return.

Pengelly hit two consecutive baskets for the Cougars and his 3-pointer at 7:35 gave WSU a 55-49 lead. Smith answered with a 3-pointer for Oregon followed by a Jamar Curry dunk and made free throw by Nelson to tie the game at 55-55 with 3:19 to go. Slotemaker made the first of two foul shots to put WSU ahead 60-58 before Brown hit his game-winning shot.
