SEATTLE (AP) - In his final college home game, David Dixon scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half to help Washington beat Washington State 82-75 Wednesday night.

The victory earned the Huskies a spot in the Pacific-10 Conference tournament.

Dixon, a 7-foot senior, made 7-of-9 shots from the field and pulled down eight rebounds before fouling out with 2:02 remaining.

Before the season started, the Huskies' goal was to make the tournament, the victory made them the eighth and final seed. They will play the yet-to-be-determined conference champion on March 7.

Washington (11-17, 5-13 Pac-10) led by as much as 17 points in the first half, but struggled to put the last-place Cougars away.

The Cougars got to within two points on four occasions in the second half, the last time with 5:30 remaining when Marcus Moore's 10-footer trimmed the Washington lead to 68-66.

Washington State (5-21, 1-17) was led by Moore's game-high 26 points. He scored 12 of the Cougars' final 16 points. Jerry McNair had 23, and J Locklier added 18 points and 11 rebounds.

The Huskies had six players in double digits. Besides Dixon, Erroll Knight had 13 and C.J. Massingale, Doug Wrenn and Grant Leep had 12 apiece. Curtis Allen added 11.

After jumping out to an early 12-9 lead, the Huskies expanded the margin with a 16-2 run. Over the first 10 minutes, Washington hit 6-of-7 from 3-point range.

Washington's shooters then hit a cold spell and the Cougars heated up, responding with an 11-0 run that cut the Washington advantage to five points at 31-26 with 4:42 left in the first half.

The Cougars trailed 43-37 at the half.
