PULLMAN, Wash. - Jason Gardner scored 19 points as No. 2 Arizona beat Washington State for the 36th straight time, pulling away for a 75-62 victory Saturday night.

Arizona (18-2, 10-1 Pacific-10), which needed overtime to beat Washington on Thursday, remained unbeaten in six conference road games this season.

The Wildcats have not lost to Washington State since Jan. 30, 1986, a 17-year winning streak that is the longest currently in the Pac-10.

Washington State (5-15, 0-11) played with tremendous intensity, but lost its 11th consecutive game and 18th straight in conference play.

Milton Riley led the Cougars with 19 points before fouling out in the closing minutes.

Arizona led by seven points at halftime, but the Cougars rallied and tied it at 54 on Jerry McNair's 3-pointer with 7:12 left.

The Wildcats then outscored Washington State 13-2 over the next 5½ minutes, starting with Hasson Adams hitting a pair of free throws and a layup and Luke Walton scoring on a goaltending call and free throw.

Washington State has now lost 37 consecutive games to ranked opponents, dating to 1997. The Cougars are 1-63 against Top 5 teams, dating to 1980.

The Cougars are playing without Marcus Moore, the second-leading scorer in the Pac-10, who is out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury. Moore scored 35 points, the most by any Wildcats opponent this season, when the Cougars lost 82-69 at Arizona earlier.
