TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Chad Prewitt scored all of his 16 points in the first half as Arizona State routed Washington State 96-45 Thursday night.

It was the Sun Devils' largest margin of victory in a Pacific-10 Conference game.

Donnell Knight had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Jason Braxton and Curtis Millage each scored 13 points for the Sun Devils (12-9, 5-7).

The 51-point margin surpassed the Sun Devils' 38-point victory over Oregon State in 1994-95 and was the largest in coach Rob Evans' four-year tenure.

Every Arizona State player in uniform scored, except Awvee Storey, who missed the game with a lower back strain.

J Locklier scored 14 points to lead Washington State (5-15, 1-11), which has lost 13 of 14.

Arizona State led 11-8 when Prewitt scored six points and Shawn Redhage added four to spark a 13-3 run that gave the Sun Devils a 24-9 lead with 12:24 left in the first half.

The Sun Devils outscored Washington State 23-6 over the final 9:59 of the half to take a 51-21 lead.

The Cougars hit just one field goal over the final 10:35, a 3-pointer by Marcus Moore with 5:48 left, and were outscored 24-21 by Prewitt and Knight.

The Sun Devils shot 55 percent in the first half to the Cougars' 28 percent and outrebounded Washington State 30-8.

The Cougars' shooting woes continued in the second half.

Washington State connected on its first two field goals, the last a 3 by Jerry McNair with 19:00 remaining, then missed its next 14 shots before Shami Gill ended the streak with 7:23 left.

Washington State was 6-of-24 from the field in the second half to finish the game at a season-low 26 percent.
