PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Jeff Varem scored 17 points and Marcus Moore scored all 12 of his points in the final 11 minutes to lead Washington State past Arizona State 63-56 Thursday night.

The Cougars (9-9, 3-5 Pacific-10) snapped a three-game losing streak, and a four-game losing streak against Arizona State (8-9, 2-6).

Ike Diogu led Arizona State with 13 points and five rebounds. Diogu went 9-for-10 at the free-throw line, but made just 2 of 7 field-goal attempts. Shami Gill and Justin Bellegarde hounded Diogu on defense.

The Sun Devils led most of the first half but also committed 13 turnovers and had to score the last five points to lead 26-23 at the half. An early 8-0 run in the second half pushed WSU ahead to stay. Arizona State finished with both a season-low 56 points and a season-high 24 turnovers.
