Washington State Notes:

Brock Motum led WSU with 26 points...he reached the 20-point plateau for the sixth time this season...has done it in back-to-back games and scored in double figures in 20 of the team's 22 games this season.
Mike Ladd played his first game since Jan. 7 at Colorado, missing five games after aggravating his thumb injury...he played 24 minutes (second-most as a Cougar) and tied his season high with four rebounds...he finished with six points.
Marcus Capers had a season-high eight rebounds...he tied with Motum to lead the team in rebounding, leading for just the second time this season and the 11th in his career.
Washington State committed a season-low one first-half foul...its eight personal fouls on the game is a season-low...previous low was 11.
The Cougars won the battle on the boards for the third time in their last four games...outrebounded the Trojans 34-20...the plus-14 rebounding margin is WSU's second highest of the season.
WSU remains perfect at Beasley Coliseum this season at 8-0 in Pullman.

Cougars Upend USC, 60-53

Brock Motum scored 26 points to lead Washington State past Southern California 60-53 Thursday night. Motum was hot from the onset, scoring 11 of the Cougars' (12-10, 4-6) first 16 points. WSU led 30-24 at halftime. Southern California (6-17, 1-9) put together a 14-4 run midway through the second half, cutting the Cougars' lead to 49-45 with 6:42 remaining, but WSU went 4 of 5 at the free throw line during a minute-long span to go up 56-45 with 3:38 left. Motum accounted for WSU's final two points when he grabbed a defensive rebound and was immediately fouled, proceeding to hit both foul shots. Motum was the only Cougar player to finish in double figures.

Cougars Return to Beasley to Host L.A. Schools

The Washington State University men's basketball team (11-10, 3-6) returns to Pullman, this weekend to face USC (6-16, 1-8) Thursday, Feb. 2 at 7:05 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum. The game will be available via webcast online at www.wsucougars.com. The Cougars will then host UCLA (12-9, 5-4) in a televised event Saturday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. on ROOT Sports NW. Both games can be heard on the Cougar Radio Network with Bud Nameck's call.
