Cougar Baseball Finishes Fall Season

Nov. 3, 2011

PULLMAN, Wash. - In preparation for its 2012 season, the Washington State University baseball team took a new approach to its fall season.

"I love the schedule our assistant coaches put together," Cougar Head Coach Donnie Marbut said. "Our guys got to know each other, we had more scimmages than before and we were able to learn more about our guys."

The Cougars will begin their quest for third NCAA postseason appearance in four years with a three-game series at Mississippi State (Feb. 17-19). Washington State opens its home season with a four-game set against Nebraska-Omaha (Feb. 24-26).

The opening Pac-12 series is at Arizona (March 16-18) and the Cougars' first home series in the conference is against USC (Mach 30-April 1).

"Our players really like each other and that will go a long way to our success," Marbut said. "We have some talented players returning and a good group of young men who joined our program this year."
