Cougar Alumni Spotlight: Jared Prince
July 10, 2012
FRISCO, Texas - Former Washington State outfielder Jared Prince is currently playing professionally in the Texas League. He is a member of the Frisco RoughRiders, the AA affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Since finishing his Cougar career in 2009 after helping Washington State reached the postseason for the first time since 1990, Prince has steadily moved through the Rangers' system. He played in Spokane (Short Season A) in the summer of 2009, moved to Hickory, N.C., (A) in 2010 and Myrtle Beach, S.C., (Advanced A) last season. Prince entered 2012 with 91 extra-base hits and 176 RBI in 308 games in the minors.
Last week, wsucougars.com had a chance to catch up with the former Cougar prior to a home game in Frisco. That night, Prince was 2-for-3 with a walk and his eighth home run of the season.
