WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington State first baseman Taylor Ard and outfielder Derek Jones were named to the 2012 All-Pac-12 Conference Baseball Team, conference commissioner Larry Scott announced, Wednesday.

It is the second-straight season Ard earned the honor. The redshirt-junior currently leads the Pac-12 with 127 total bases. He ranks third in the conference with 12 home runs and a .577 slugging percentage. Ard is sixth in the Pac-12 with 50 RBI, tied for eighth with 73 hits and tied for 10th with 16 doubles. His .577 career slugging percentage is seventh all-time at Washington State.

Jones garnered his first selection after receiving honorable mention in 2010 and 2011. He currently ranks fourth in the Pac-12 with a .574 slugging percentage and is tied for fourth with 120 total bases and 31 walks. The senior's nine home runs are tied for fifth in the conference and his .438 on-base percentage is sixth. Jones collected 17 doubles, tied for sixth in the Pac-12 and stole 11 bases, tied for ninth. He is the Cougar career record holder for home runs with 41 and ranks on the Washington State all-time top 10 in total bases (third), hit by pitch (tied-fourth), RBI (fifth), at bats (fifth), games (seventh), outfield assists (tied-seventh), runs (ninth) and hits (10th).

Both Ard and Jones are expected to be selected during the 2012 MLB First-Year Player Draft, held June 4-6.
