Greg Lagreid Named Bench Award Semifinalist

WSU catcher is leading the Cougars in batting average.

WICHITA, Kan. - Washington State senior catcher Greg Lagreid has been named a semifinalist for the Johnny Bench Award.

A native of Edmonds, Lagreid is one of 13 semifinalists for the honor presented by The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission.

The WSU backstop has been a leader on a Cougar team currently second in the Pacific-10 Conference standings. He is batting .381 with 11 doubles and 39 RBI, all tops on the team. He also leads the Cougars with 64 hits and 90 total bases.

Three finalists will be announced, June 3 and the award will be presented, June 26.
