COUGARS HIT THE ROAD TO OPEN 2013 SEASON
Washington State baseball begins an eight-game homestand with a four-game series against Eastern Michigan...meetings will take place at Bailey-Brayton Field, Friday, Feb. 22 (2 p.m.), Saturday, Feb. 23 (noon, doubleheader) and Sunday, Feb. 24 (noon)...Eastern Michigan and Washington State have not met on the diamond...Cougars are 1-2 this season and 239-217 under Donnie Marbut, who is in his ninth season as the head coach of the WSU program and 10th overall in Pullman...Marbut is assisted by Gregg Swenson, Pat Waer, Michael Naughton and Scott Parrish.

Six freshmen, two redshirt-freshmen and sophomore each made their collegiate debuts for Washington State in the Cougars' series at Western Carolina, Feb. 15-17...Nick Tanielu, a redshirt-freshman, is tied for the team lead with a .429 batting average (6-for-14).
COUGAR BULLPEN
Eight relievers combined for 11 appearances in the season-opening series at Western Carolina, Feb. 15-17...Cougar bullpen has combined for 11 1/3 innings pitched, a 2.38 ERA and 12 strikeouts...senior right-hander Kyle Swannack earned a victory in relief, Feb. 17.
