UCLA cut the lead to 5-2 in the fourth as Jermaine Curtis led off with a single and scored on Cody Decker's double to left. Gabe Cohen then singled home Decker, one of three hits on the afternoon for Cohen.
The Cougars continued their offensive attack as Prince led off the fifth with a home run to left then singled home Travis Coulter in the sixth. Coulter reached on a double that scored Zach Borba as WSU led 8-2 entering the seventh.
The Bruins added a run in the eighth on Alden Carrithers sacrifice fly and two more in the ninth courtesy of four singles. After the third single, Nick Cebula relieved Jayson Miller and after giving up an RBI single to Casey Haerther, Cebula got a fly out and groundout to end the game.
