EVERETT, Wash. - Adam Nelubowich blasted a go-ahead home run in the seventh inning and Washington State rallied for an 8-6 victory over Seattle at Everett Memorial Stadium, Monday night.

Keyed by Nelubowich's third round tripper of the season, the Cougars (21-16) scored five times over the final-three innings.

With two outs in the top of the seventh, Derek Jones was hit by a pitch. Nelubowich then drove a 2-1 pitch over the right field wall off Seattle (19-17) starter Brandon Kizer (3-4) to give the Cougars a 5-4 lead.

In the eighth, P.J. Jones singled with two outs and moved to third on a double by Kyle Johnson. Patrick Claussen walked to load the bases. Claussen's hustle beat the throw to second on a ground ball by Taylor Ard allowing Jones to score. Johnson never stopped running on the play and scored from second to increase Washington State's lead to 7-4.

The Cougars tacked on a run in the ninth when Ian Sagdal singled to plate Derek Jones with two outs. Seattle cut the deficit to 8-6 in the bottom of the ninth against Washington State reliever Kellen Camus (1-1), who worked 2 2/3 innings to pick up the win. Spencer Jackson came on to retire all-three men he faced and earned his first-collegiate save.

Washington State built a 3-1 lead with two runs in the second and one in the fifth. In the second, Johnson drove in a run with a fielder's choice and Jason Monda stole home on a double steal. Nelubowich's RBI-single in the fifth gave the Cougars a two-run advantage.

The Redhawks responded with three runs in their half of the fifth against Washington State starter Kyle Swannack to grab a 4-3 lead.
