PULLMAN, Wash. - Trevor Bauer struck out 15 and No. 16 UCLA scored seven times over the final-three innings to defeat Washington State 10-3 in Pacific-10 Conference baseball, Saturday.

Bauer (6-1) fanned at least one hitter in each inning of his complete game win, including six frames where he punched out two.

Tommy Richards did get to Bauer for a solo home run to right field leading off the third inning to give Washington State (12-14, 1-7 Pac-10) a 1-0 lead. Chad Arnold carried that lead into the fifth inning until UCLA (16-10, 7-1 Pac-10) scored three times.

A base hit and a pair of walks loaded the bases against Arnold with one out. A sacrifice fly tied the game before a double steal put runners at second and third with two outs. The Cougars had a chance to get out of the inning, but a foul pop up fell untouched on the left side between third baseman Matt Argyropoulos and the foul line. Cody Regis capitalized on the mistake with a two-run single to give the Bruins a 3-1 advantage.

In the sixth, Brett Jacobs walked with one out and scored on a double by Taylor Ard. Two batters later, a fly ball by Argyropoulos was misjudged by the Bruins' right fielder Chris Giovinazzo and fell just inside fair territory for a double that tied the game 3-3.

Richie Ochoa (3-1), who relieved Arnold in the sixth, gave up back-to-back hits to open the seventh and UCLA regained the lead 4-3. The Bruins added three runs on three hits in the frame against Anthony Drobnick to go on top 7-3. UCLA tacked on three runs in the ninth to close the scoring.

The series concludes Sunday with first pitch scheduled for noon.
