TUCSON, Ariz. - Taylor Ard homered and drove in four runs to lead Washington State past Oklahoma State 13-2 at the Dairy Queen Classic, Friday.

The Cougars (5-1) pounded seven Oklahoma State (6-3) pitchers for 15 hits in support of junior left-hander Adam Conley (3-0).

"Our offense was really good tonight," Washington State Head Coach Donnie Marbut said. "It was my favorite game of the season because we were able to get a lot of guys some playing time."

Washington State took a 1-0 in the top of the second on back-to-back doubles by Matt Argyropoulos and Jason Monda. The Cougars extended their lead to 3-0 in the third on Ard's line drive over the left-center field wall with Kyle Johnson aboard.

Both teams picked up a run in the fourth and the score remained 4-1 until the seventh when Washington State broke the game open with a four-run rally.

Jay Ponciano opened the frame with a single and Johnson was hit by a pitch. After a sacrifice bunt by Brett Jacobs and a strikeout, Ard delivered a two-run single to increase the Cougars' lead to 6-1. Argyropoulos capped the rally with a two-run single.

Washington State tacked on five runs in the eighth with the big hit coming off the bat of Stetson Olson, who tripled with the bases loaded.

Conley went seven innings, scattered nine hits, struck five and did not walk a batter. Bret DeRooy and Sal Arena each logged an inning of relief.
