Michael Naughton enters his first season at Washington State University and will serve as the Cougars' volunteer coach.
A native of Tacoma, Wash., Naughton will direct Cougar Baseball Camps, serve as the short game coordinator, work with outfielders and be on the field as Washington State's first base coach.
Naughton was the head coach at Tacoma Community College from 2002-05. He was named the NWAACC Coach of the Year for the West Division in 2003. Prior to the being the Titans' head coach, he was an assistant for current Cougar pitching coach Gregg Swenson at TCC from 1999-2001.
A four-year (1991-94) member of the Gonzaga baseball team as an outfielder and captain his senior season, Naughton earned his bachelor's degree in public relations.
