COUGARS CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS TRAVEL TO NOTRE DAME
The Washington State men's and women's cross country teams travel to the highly-competitive Notre Dame Invitational Friday for a race at the Notre Dame Golf Course...the No. 29 Cougar men look to bounce themselves higher into the national rankings with a good performance in Indiana racing against a 10 nationally-ranked and 19 regionally-ranked teams in the five-mile Blue race...Cougar women will face four nationally-ranked and 17 regionally-ranked teams in the 5,000m women's Blue race...results will be available on the official WSU Athletic website, wsucougars.com, when available post-race.

WSU MEN RANKED NO. 29 IN USTFCCCA
The WSU's men's team is ranked 29th in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Week 3 national poll and ninth in the regional poll...WSU men finished 21st at the 2011 NCAA Championships and fourth at NCAA West Regional...USTFCCCA releases regional and national rankings through the season based on predicted finish in the NCAA Regional and National Championships.
LAST YEAR AT THE NOTRE DAME INVITE
The WSU men's team, led by senior Jono Lafler's 11th-place finish, took fifth in the Blue race at the 2011 Notre Dame Invitational...Cougars finished in front of four nationally-ranked teams: No. 20 New Mexico, No. 22 Notre Dame, No. 26 Ohio State, and No. 27 Eastern Kentucky...the four teams ahead of WSU were ranked in the top 15...the next week the Cougar men were ranked 20th nationally, the best since 1997...WSU women's team finished 17th.
