LAST CHANCE QUALIFYING MEETS THIS FRIDAY FOR COUGARS
Selected members of the Washington State men's track and field teams travel to Notre Dame and Seattle for Last Chance Qualifying meets for the NCAA Indoor Championships March 8-9 in Fayetteville, Ark...competing March 1 at the Notre Dame Alex Wilson Invitational meet at the Loftus Sports Center is a men's Distance Medley Relay team of Todd Wakefield (1200m), Jacob Sealby (400m), Jesse Jorgensen (800m), and Drew Jordan (mile)...Wakefield and Jordan are coming off stunning performances at the MPSF Championships with Wakefield winning the 3000m and Jordan winning the 5000m...this is the first DMR race for the Cougar men this season...Coach Sloan estimates a time of 9 minutes 36 seconds will get into the final 12 teams selected for the national championships...Stephan Scott-Ellis, the 2012 and 2013 MPSF long jump champion, goes to Seattle to improve his triple jump, currently 14th in the NCAA national TFRRS standings in order to improve his marks to go with his long jump mark which is 13th nationally.

ABOUT THE COUGAR COACHES
Head coach Rick Sloan is in his 40th season with the Cougar track program; 19th year as a head coach, 18th year as mentor to the combined men's and women's program...Sloan (decathlon/heptathlon) is joined by associate coach Debra Farwell (throws) and assistant coaches Mark Macdonald (hurdles/relays), Ellannee Richardson (sprints/relays), Matt McGee (jumps) and cross country coach Tim Riley (distance)...volunteers include Jeshua Anderson, Chanel James and Courtney Simmons

NCAA DESCENDING ORDER LISTS
The NCAA abondoned the qualifying standards for the 2013 indoor competition...national descending order lists can be viewed at the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Track & Field Results Reporting System website (www.tfrrs.org)...race marks are converted to accommodate for track sizes and surfaces...best marks for the Cougars for the 2013 indoor season can be found at www.wsucougars.com.

Todd Wakefield, 3000m - 8:02.06 (40th)
Drew Jordan, 5000m - 13:54.35 (24th)
4x400m Relay (Chambers, Howell, L. Sealby, J. Sealby) - 3:10.97 (48th)
Stephan Scott-Ellis, long jump - 7.74m/25-4 3/4 (13th)
Stephan Scott-Ellis, triple jump - 15.86m/52-0 1/2 (14th)
