COUGARS OPEN INDOOR T&F SEASON HOSTING WSU OPEN MEET
Washington State University's indoor track and field teams open the 2013 indoor season with the 11th Annual WSU Indoor Open, Friday and Saturday, Jan. 11 and 12, in the Indoor Facility on the Pullman campus...WSU Indoor Facility's Mondo track features racing at 60m, 200m, 400m, mile, 800m and 3000m with 60m hurdles as well as a co-ed 4x400m relay...jumping and throwing field events will be contested on the turf inside the oval...women's 20-pound and men's 35-pound weight throws take place Fri., Jan. 11, at 4 p.m...remaining field events will begin Saturday, Jan. 12, at 8:30 a.m. with running events set to start at 10 a.m...all competitors need to register and pay online no later than Noon, Jan. 9 at www.DirectAthletics.com for a $20 entry fee...no late entries will be accepted for this meet...spectators are admitted free of charge for all WSU Track & Field competition in 2013...complete results will be posted at www.wsucougars.com, following the meet's completion.
ABOUT THE COUGAR COACHES
Head coach Rick Sloan is in his 40th season with the Cougar track program; 19th year as a head coach, 18th year as mentor to the combined men's and women's program...Sloan (decathlon/heptathlon) is joined by associate coach Debra Farwell (throws) and assistant coaches Mark Macdonald (hurdles/relays), Ellannee Richardson (sprints/relays), Matt McGee (jumps) and cross country coach Tim Riley (distance)...volunteers include Jeshua Anderson and Courtney Simmons.
