WALNUT, Calif. -- Washington State hurdler Shaquana Logan and sprinter Shawna Fermin recorded times worthy of the Cougar women's all-time top ten standings Friday at the 54th Annual Mt. SAC Relays Invitational Elite/Olympic Development/University Invitational competition at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif.

Logan, a junior from Tacoma, ran the sixth-best 100m hurdles time in school history, finishing 13th in 13.76 seconds. Later in the day Logan clocked in with a season-best 400m hurdles time of 1-minute, 1.68 seconds (26th).

Fermin, a junior from Victorville, Calif., ran a PR and ninth-fastest time in WSU history of 23.92 for 12th place in the 200m dash. Fermin will also race in the women's invitational 400m dash Saturday afternoon.

Senior J Hopkins (Everett) captured third place in the men's 400m hurdles with a season-best time of 51.43. Dana Wells (55.74) and Rashaun Johnson (56.02) finished 36th and 38th, respectively, in the same event.

Greg Hornsby ran a season-best 100m dash time of 10.73 for 30th place, and Brett Blanshan's time of 10.85 was 38th. Jacob Sealby ran a season-best 400m dash time of 48.00 for 24th and Brandon Dawson's time of 48.87 was 37th. In the women's sprints, Cindy Robinson's 100m dash time of 12.03 was 28th.

High hurdlers Aric Walden (14.98) and Ramsey Hopkins (15.14) finished 30th and 35th respectively. In the women's high hurdles, Candii McFarland recorded a personal-record time of 14.03 for 20th place.

Cougar alum and 2010 Pac-10 women's intermediate hurdles champion Lorraine King finished eighth in that race Friday with a time of 59.78 while McFarland ran a time of 1:03.09 (34th).

Unfortunately the Cougar relay teams did not fare well. The WSU men's 4x100m squad of Johnson, Hornsby, Wilhite and Blanshan finished 11th in a time of 42.64 while the Cougar women's squad of Robinson, James, McFarland and Fermin did not finish.

Javelin throwers Christine Kirkwood and Courtney Simmons finished sixth and eighth, respectively, with Kirkwood's best toss of the day at 158-7 (48.34) and Simmons' mark at 152-4 (46.44m). Joe Bartlett struggled with fouled throws Friday but tossed the shot 55-6 1/4 (16.92m) for ninth place.

The Mt. SAC Relays continue Saturday with Olympic Development competition with only Shawn Fermin (400m) and WSU alums Blessing Ufodiama (triple jump), Marissa Tschida (javelin) and Jeshua Anderson (400m hurdles) competing. Saturday is the Cougar Invitational Meet in Pullman starting at 10 a.m. at Mooberry Track.
