SANTA BARBARA -- Washington State decathletes Michael Bolligar and Sean Harris struggled in the second day at the UC Santa Barbara Sam Adams Combined Events Invitational being contested at Westmont College.

Bolligar, a junior from Peoria, Ariz., was 10th with 6,051 points and Harris, a junior from Kent, Wash., had 5,494 points but did not finish the final event. The decathlon competition was won by Chris Randolph, former Seattle Pacific University decathlete now competing for Sketchers, with 7,840 points, while Oregon's Dakota Keys was the top collegiate in second place with 7,682 points.

In action Tuesday afternoon and evening, Bolligar, bothered by a previously injured ankle, did not finish the high hurdles race, threw the discus 114-feet, 10 inches (35.00m), cleared 14-9 (4.50m) in the pole vault, threw the javelin 144-8 (44.10m), and ran the 1500m in a time of 4 minutes, 52.04 seconds.

Harris ran the 110m hurdles in 15.57 seconds, threw the discus 135-3 (41.24m), did not clear a height in the pole vault, threw the javelin a distance of 162-2 (49.43m), and did not run the 1500m.

The Cougar track and field team members will compete at the Stanford Invitational and the SCC WAR V meet in Spokane this weekend.
