WSU Results from Pole Vault Summit

RENO, Nev. -- Two Cougar men and one woman competed at the Pole Vault Summit, a two-day extravaganza of workshops and competition for vaulters and coaches held yearly at the Reno Hilton Hotel, Saturday.

Freshman Tyson Byers (Spokane) cleared an indoor PR mark of 4.95m/16-feet, 2 3/4 inches to place tenth in the College Men Section II. Senior Rick Collins (Spokane) vaulted 4.85m/15-11 for ninth place in the College Men Section III.

Karla McGee, a junior from Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, cleared 11-1 3/4 in the College Women's Section II.

The Pole Vault Summit competition features seven indoor pole vault runways for 1,000 athletes to compete in 44 levels ranging from high school through Olympians.
