FRESHMAN (2001-02): Indoor - At MPSF Championships long jump PR 7.36m/24-1 3/4i and triple jump PR 14.92m/48-11 1/2i (2/23/02, Flagstaff)…Outdoor - Top triple jump marks of season came at Pac-10 Championships (5/19/02, Pullman)…third place in triple jump with wind-aided 15.47m/50-9 1/4 and a legal leap in series of 15.19m/49-10…finished eighth in the long jump with a mark of 7.13m/23-4 3/4…best long jump mark of season was in hyper-wind (7.17m/23-6 3/4W) at Idaho Dual (4/13/02, Pullman).

Earned six varsity letters at Palmdale High…four in track with coaches Jeff Williams and Jeff Leeds, and two in football with coach Jeff Williams…high school All-American…number two triple jumper in Track & Field News 2001 prep rankings…leap of 50-10 3/4 was fourth best among prep boys last year…began senior year ranked fifth…two-time state triple jump champion…two-time Masters triple jump champion…CIF finals in long jump…long jump PR was 23-8 1/2…Adidas All-American Team for triple jump…Palmdale High Athlete of the Year…Antelope Valley Press Male Athlete of the Year…junior year triple jumped 49-10 3/4, 12th best mark in the nation…selected to regional first team…team MVP…made CIF finals in triple jump and 110m hurdles as a sophomore…MVP of the Field Event Team…Palmdale won league track title his freshman season…named football’s most outstanding offensive player as senior and most outstanding running back as a junior…second team All-Golden League at wide receiver as senior…as a child, was member of Thomas Counts’ Desert Lightning Track Club…at age nine placed sixth in U.S. in long jump…at age 11, was 13th nationally in long jump…on Myatt Track Club coached by Reggie Smith…qualified for AAU Junior Olympics in hurdles, triple jump and long jump.
