WSU CAREER.JUNIOR (2010-11): Indoor - Ran 400m top time of 48.09i at Washington Invitational (1/29/11, Seattle)...at Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships (2/26/11, Seattle) ran second leg on runner-up 4x400m relay team (3:10.80i) and placed seventh in 400m dash (48.21i)...1600m relay ran a time of 3:07.61i at NCAA Last Chance Qualifier (3/5/11, Ames, Iowa) - ran second leg in 46.8...time was second-fastest indoor time and ninth-best all-time in WSU men's history...at NCAA Indoor Championships (3/12/11, College Station, Texas), 1600m relay lead leg Greg Hornsby pulled hamstring but gimped through...Dawson started his leg about 50-meters behind the field at the handoff but ran a split of 47.70...squad finished 10th in time of 3:12.01i...Outdoor - At Pac-10 Championships (5/14/11, Tucson), finished ninth in 400m dash in time of 47.97 after running season-best of 47.06 in prelims...ran lead leg of 4x400m relay that finished second in time of 3:06.40, the fourth-fastest time in WSU history...injured going into NCAA West Prelims in Eugene, finished 44th in 400m (48.80) and 1600m relay team did not run.

PRE-WSU CAREER. Competed at Sacramento City College in 2010 for Coach Robert Dewar...Big 8 Conference 400m champion (47.43) and 4x400m relay champ (3:11.63) with relay split of 46.2 seconds...NorCal 400m dash champion with PR time of 46.96, and 4x400m relay champion (3:12.78)...runner-up in 200m at same meet with PR time of 21.43...finished third in 400m at California JC Championships and eighth at the California Invitational Relays.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. Earned seven varsity letters at Fairfield High...one in basketball for coach Eddie Wilson, two as a wide receiver on the football team for coach Carlos Goni, and four as a sprinter for coach David Monk...member 4x400m relay that won Division titles and section titles throughout prep career...won 400m dash at Monticello Empire League championships as junior and senior...also on winning 400m and 1600m relay teams...senior year added 200m MEL title...finished sixth at state meet in 400m...named team MVP.

PERSONAL. Born in December 1989 in Oakland...father Kenneth Dawson...mother Minnie Murry is a para educator and contractor...hobbies include drawing and writing lyrics...majoring in fine arts at WSU.
